Kissin' in the back row - The Odeon in Bishop Auckland

A treasured building, now, very sadly no longer with us.  Opened 21 November 1938, and closed 15 October 1983, later to be demolished in April 1995, much to the horror of its many cinema goers.  Many of us will remember how special it felt to be inside, with its plush red carpets, sweeping staircases, and the joy of ice-creams being served in the aisles half way through a feature film of the day.  An affordable pastime in its day!
