Our beautiful, beloved cinema.  Opened as the Majestic on 21 November 1938 with 1385 seats.  Later to become the Odeon in 1946.  It felt special walking up the steps, the red velvety carpet, the anticipation of a film never seen before.  Ice creams at half time.  An affordable, reachable pastime for most in days gone by.  Closed in the early 1980s and eventually, very sadly, controversially demolished in 1995.
